THANKS MIEDEMA SANITATION
There was a fire at Sandborn Storage on July 6th, which caused smoke and soot damage to RCC donations being stored there. RCC was in great need of a trailer and volunteers to remove and dispose of damaged products. Jeff with Miedema Sanitation graciously gave up his Saturday and assisted RCC with his roll on trailer. Thank you Jeff and Miedema Sanitation!

MORE THAN VOLUNTEERS
RCC Mitchell received a call from an elderly woman who had lost her home and didn't have transportation, food or shelter for herself and Diamond (adorable cat). ROCS Outreach offices were closed over the weekend, so our RCC team stepped in. She was able to get a hotel room thanks to ROCS CEO and RCC Director, and RCC volunteers brought groceries, cat food, and litter to her.
Thank you to Clinton, Shawn, Paige, TJ, Nick, Michelle and Peter for showing just how much ROCS cares for the community!

PAY IT FORWARD
When Shelley won our $50 gift card for volunteering, she decided to donate it back to someone in need within the community.
We had the perfect family in mind!
The gift card was given to Vickie and her daughter Harley, who has diverse needs. Due to Harley's condition, it is essential that she have extra clothing.
Thanks to Shelley's generosity, Harley now has some new outfits!

Thank You Weatherization Team!
As part of the Peoples Bank North Sioux City location's Grand Opening in December, attendees could vote for their favorite non-profit. For each vote, Peoples Bank donated $10 to that organization and added an extra donation on top of that.
The Union County Food Pantry (Rural Office of Community Services) received the most votes and received a $1,000 donation from Peoples Bank.

ROCS Helps Stranded Truckers in Chamberlain
The December '22 blizzard caused many roads and businesses to close across South Dakota with areas experiencing freezing rain, snow and high wind. One truck stop in Chamberlain saw 20+ stranded truckers that were unable to travel for 2 or more days as it was reported the area received 12-14" of snow. ROCS Transit - Chamberlain staff identified a need, bringing warm meals and water to those who were stranded at the truck stop.
