At LOL, we understand the challenges that many students face, including homelessness, lack of access to clean clothes, and limited resources.
That's why we've created a safe and welcoming environment where youth can take care of their laundry needs without any cost barriers.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Use the link below to book your 2-hour slot.

Only 2 sessions per week per household is permitted.

2. Bring your laundry to Loads of Love during your scheduled time.

Enter the front doors of RCC Mitchell and follow directional signage to the laundry area. You'll find rolling laundry bins on hand to help transport your laundry from your vehicle.

3. Wash those clothes!

Loads of Love is an entirely free youth laundromat which also provides complimentary laundry detergent and dryer sheets.

4. Leave it how you found it.

Please make sure you tidy up and leave the room how you found it to ensure the next student has a great experience too!

ABOUT THE NEED

A student with chronic absenteeism misses at least 10% of the school year (18+ days), which translates to difficulties learning to read before third grade, succeeding in middle school, and graduating from high school. Chronic absenteeism is on the rise with thousands of kids missing school every day because they don’t have clean clothes to wear, putting them at risk of falling behind or dropping out. Loads of Love is a new and growing program designed to mitigate barriers to education by giving the youth access to clean clothes. LOL's first location is in Mitchell, but more sites are on the horizon!

1 in 5

1 in 5 students don't have access to clean clothes, making them more likely to miss school.

Youth that miss school are 7 times more likely to drop out.

2x

For each year that a student is chronically absent, their odds of dropping out double.
