The program began with discretionary monies in 2005 for the 05-06 school year.  The program has grown steadily each year and is currently funded with CSBG funds.

2006-2007 program assisted 2343 students in 911 households

As of October 1, 2007, 2175 students in 855 households have been assisted.

Clients must be under 125% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. (To see the income guidelines, click here.)

This program is on-going.

Applications are automatically sent to the previous years' participants around the middle of July.  To apply for the School Supply Program, contact the ROCS office at 1-877-254-6110.

Special Programs

In 2007-2008, ROCS received grant money to administer the following programs.  Each of these programs recognizes 160% of the poverty guidelines. Each of these programs requires an application filled out and signed and income verification.

Energy Kits/Home Safety Products

The Energy Kit/Home Safety Product program is still open for applications. Funds have been granted to provide Smoke Alarms, Carbon Monoxide Detectors or Refillable Fire Extinguishers for low-income families.

32 Piece Energy Saving Kits are also available. The kits include compact fluorescent light bulbs, door sweeps, plastic for windows, pipe wrap and outlet/switch inserts.  These kits are designed for a homeowner or renter to do some do-it-yourself energy saving measures to save on heating and cooling costs.
